Description:  The Radio Officer's license is issued to applicants who have a valid Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license as first or second class radiotelegraph operator (T1, T2). Certain officers are required to hold Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) certification issued by the FCC.
