The federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act includes several references to High Skill, High Wage, or In-Demand occupations.

  • High Wage Criteria: Occupations with median annual earnings of >= $36,500, or hourly earnings of >= $17.55 per hour.

  • In-Demand Criteria: Occupations with State Annual Earnings ≥ $13.47 per hour, Annual Growth in Jobs ≥ the Area Average and/or Total Annual Job Openings ≥ the Area Average and JobsOhio Industry Cluster In-Demand Occupations and 2nd Tier Methodology for Forecasted Jobs.

  • A limited number of occupations are included on the list based on anecdotal information.
