Adult Health CNS Certification Description Eligibility Criteria Hold a current, active RN license in a state or territory of the United States or hold the professional, legally recognized equivalent in another country. Hold a master's, postgraduate, or doctoral degree* from an adult health clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) (formerly NLNAC \| National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission). A minimum of 500 faculty-supervised clinical hours in the adult health clinical nurse specialist role and population must be included in the educational program. The adult health clinical nurse specialist graduate program must include three separate, comprehensive courses in: -Advanced physical/health assessment -Advanced pharmacology -Advanced pathophysiology Candidates may be authorized to sit for the examination after all coursework for the degree is complete, prior to degree conferral, provided that all other eligibility requirements are met. Clinical Nurse Specialist Perioperative Certification Certification Description CNS-CP certification validates the achievement of the masters-prepared CNS who has chosen to seek current proficiency as an advanced practice nurse practicing in the perioperative (pre-, intra-, and post-operative) setting. Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist Certification Description The Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHS) builds upon the NP or CNS role to provide advanced assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of common behavioral and mental health problems in children and adolescents. Therapeutic services include early recognition, intervention, and active monitoring as well as appropriate referral for complex individual and family mental health disorders. Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist

Certification Description
The Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHS) builds upon the NP or CNS role to provide advanced assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of common behavioral and mental health problems in children and adolescents. Therapeutic services include early recognition, intervention, and active monitoring as well as appropriate referral for complex individual and family mental health disorders. Health care services are evidence-based and include the use of behavioral and mental health screening tools, brief psychotherapeutic interventions, and psychopharmacology. The APRN PMHS coordinates care and collaborates with others to enhance quality mental health services for children and families.
