The requirements for National Board Certification in the field of Early Childhood and Middle Childhood/Art are organized into the following nine standards: Goals of Art Education; Knowledge of Students as Learners; Equity and Diversity; Content of Art; Curriculum and Instruction; Instructional Resources and Technology; Learning Environments; Collaboration with Families, Schools, and Communities; and Assessment, Evaluation, and Reflection on Teaching and Learning .
